In 2005, Alana was a regular 18 year-old girl and she worked in a restaurant. One day she was spotted by a model scout and she was offered a proposal to follow a career as a runway model. In 2006, she made her debut on the catwalk, walking for Proenza Schouler, Dolce & Gabanna and Chanel at New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. In 2012, Alana was evolved in a scandal, during the presentation of Gianfranco Ferre Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear collection, because she was found to be «too skinny» for Italian catwalks and she had to gain weight. In 2006, the models were required to have a body mass index of 18,5 to be able to walk in Italian runways, in order to combat anorexia, who had been the cause of death of several models.

Her career continues to grown and she’s one of Canada’s most successful models. Alana doesn’t smoke and she’s aware of the drug addition of her fellow models. She loves all kinds of food, especially Canadian and American traditional food and one of her favorite restaurants is The Blue Ribbon, in New York. Alana enjoys spending her free time with her boyfriend and her closest friends, as well as knitting, running and practicing Yoga. She considers Happiness to be the most important thing in life.
